Comeback...

Here i come back again after years to write something about the subject which I cherish a lot and that was the only reason why i started writing about "Sufism & Sufi Writings". And that's why i am starting it again...

It was a long journey for me to reach the year 2007 where i am
still struggling to take off the loads of my past and present situations. But all through these years i read about suifism and also heard lot of Sufi music especially by Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Saheb(NFAK) , Abida Parveen and Rahat Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan who is successor of NFAK.

But to my own surprise i have become agnostic and stopped believing in GOD, i know lot of you would think that how can i relate to something like sufism or sufi writings then. Well, my answer to that would be that you don't have to believe in the existence of God to understand what people like Amir Khusrau or Baba Bulleh Shah wrote.

Am i making any sense???

Another reason for my comeback is the company of excellent journalists, writers and editors. People like Percy Fernandez, whom i call "Percy Bhai" because he is a man of multiple interests and writes so well. Sandeep Pal, whom i call "Bhaaji (big brother in Punjabi)",
Nidhi Joshi, Shali Ittaman, Kudrat Bhatia, Kanika, Prachi... all of them write so well and they all write in totally different styles.

So i thought let me also start...

Welcome back!

I agree...The very foundation of Sufism is love...and you don't have to believe in HIM to love...

Kunal, It's always a great feeling to comeback. Welcome back.I know nothing of Sufism but I can tell you that you can be agnostic and still write about Sufism. It's how you want to define God. It's how you want to define religion. A man like NFAK transcends all barriers, his music cuts across continents. He still lives when he is dead. He is God becasue I have seen him. He is God because I have listened to him. He is God because he lives among us, his music enthralls us and his voice still haunts us. I remember the lyrics of a song by Sting when he says, "If Jesus is alive, why isn't he here".

Great going. Keep writing.
